JAMES D. LORENZEN, P.Eng, BDS

James Lorenzen owns and manages Lorenzen Engineering Corporation.  His company has been providing engineering and project management services to various private and public clients since 1992.  In addition, he has over fifteen years of hospital, school and office facility management experience.  He is the first Canadian to have received the International "Frederick P. Smarro" Award for Excellence in Facility Engineering presented by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering, (1993), in Chicago, U.S.A. 
He has also authored numerous articles on maintenance and energy conservation in buildings, including:  Building an Effective Maintenance Department; Facility Testing - A Plant Engineer's Perspective; Improving Maintenance Performance: Tips for the New Manager; and Proven Energy Conservation Techniques for Plant Engineers. 
He is designated as a Consulting Engineer and is registered as a Building Design Specialist with the Association of Professional Engineers in Ontario.  He is also registered as a Qualified Designer with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Ontario. 

Mr. Lorenzen's engineering practice is focused on the application of technology to enhance the operation and efficiency of his clients' properties; including multi unit residential, office, research facilities, utilities, and industrial buildings. 

Mr. Lorenzen's project management service is focused on the successful completion of projects, usually involving construction coordination, budget management, and other typical construction project management functions.  In these efforts, Mr. Jim Brownlee, CFM has been working in a partnership of complimentary resources with Lorenzen Engineering, to accomplish several particularly demanding and complex projects within the last few years.
